Introducing the NEW polycarbonate tunnel!

Having had so many rips and tears in our old polytunnel, it no longer held any heat and needed replaced.

We applied to the Community Climate  Action Fund for just under £10000 so we could replace the polytunnel and get some gardening equipment for a family gardening club. Lockdown brought a few challenges but Chris and his team from Western Isles Polycarbonate Tunnels came and erected the new tunnel in a day and a half! They had impromptu question and answer sessions with curious classes and showed how tough the polycarbonate sheets are.

P5/6 outdoor learning

P5/6 has a go at the orienteering games this week and did exceptionally well with learning the map symbols and keeping their fingers safe from the sharp points with the control punch relay game!

Map skills

P7 has started learning common symbols from a map key by playing a.game outside.  They also had a go at using the orienteering controls and no fingers were harmed from the sharp points on the controls!

Primary 7 orienteering

P7 were outside for orienteering and learned how to solves clues to find the answer on the correct control-the fastest time wasn't necessarily the most accurate answers and so time penalties were issued for any errors!
