Newt Frogs on the Block

The rain doesn't stop P5/6, no siree!

P5/6 returned to the canal this week with their recycled pond dippers and they went looking for tadpoles and they found some as well what we think we identified as a dragonfly nymph and also a BIG aquatic snail! All creatures were carefully released back to the depths of the canal.

When we returned to class, comic strips were made showing the amazing METAMORPHOSIS a tadpole goes through to become a frog!

Local wildlife

We have a little corner of amphibians living in our school grounds! Newts and frogs have moved in.  A Devil’s Coach Man Beetle was also sported and identified!

Something made this nest... but we don’t know what?
