Buzzing wildlife
The school is coming into bloom and attracting wildlife. Classes were out dipping for tadpoles and observed that the tadpoles have grown their rear legs since last week!
It’s been a busy week-Sports Day, Outdoor week for P7, Active Travel week and Day to day lessons too! It’s been lovely to see so much activity in our outdoor areas.
P5/6 and P6 were hunting tadpoles and caught back swimmers and dragonfly nymphs too and we saw fully grown dark flies along the canal.
The family gardening club has started to see their seedlings grow and there is a huge range of fruit and veg growing now-From broccoli to watermelons!
A busy week but a week to remember!

P7 Outdoor Week
P7 couldn’t have a residential outdoor week thanks to the lockdown and Covid restrictions so instead their teacher, Miss Baxter, was determined to make sure that they didn’t miss out. The class has never grumbled when they’ve missed out on doing activities we would run in pre-Covid days and they have taken the changes in their stride
She has planned and arranged a full week of activities and has had the help of Mrs Clark who has ordered the required resources and made phone calls to a order hot choc for the cycle trip.
Mon: Treasure Hunt, problem solving games, taking on the spider web, nerf gun war and hotdogs and roasting marshmallows on the fire.
Tues: Cycle to Bowling Harbour for a hot chocolate and stone skimming, watched a world famous paddle steamer sail by and do some beach combing!
Here are some photos.

Shoots appearing!
There was a buzz at gardening club as the families returned to find their seeds beginning to sprout as new shoots had appeared.
Some courgettes, rainbow carrots, watermelon seeds and peas were sown today and all the beds were given a good watering too from the families and also from P6.

Families Gardening Club
Crops have been sown and some seedlings planted in our Polycarbonate tunnel and as temperatures soar we have stepped up the frequency of watering.
Sweetcorn, tomatoes, broccoli, sweet peas, carrots, marigolds, watermelons and rainbow mix of flowers are all starting to sprout and thrive. Exciting times!
